About

I was born in Brazil to a Dutch mother and an Italian father, and I've been fortunate to work across multiple continents. Over the years, I've called Boulder, San Francisco, São Paulo, Porto, Lisbon, London, and now Brooklyn home.

My design philosophy centers on deep customer understanding. I believe designers should know their company's customers and product better than anyone else, enabling us to identify meaningful opportunities and drive real business outcomes.

Before design, I worked as a journalist in Brazil, developing a strong foundation in storytelling and research. In 2014, I transitioned to design, starting with agencies like Made in Boulder and AKQA in San Francisco. I then moved to the product side at Farfetch, where I progressed from their Porto office to becoming the first designer in Lisbon, and eventually relocating to London. During my final two years there, I led design for Private Clients — a unique segment that generated a disproportionate share of company revenue.

From 2021 to 2024, I served as the sole designer at kencko, a startup bridging Lisbon and Brooklyn. This role demanded versatility: from user research and product strategy to hands-on design, prototyping, and a bit of front-end development.

In August 2024, I relocated to the US to explore visual storytelling through documentary filmmaking. This year has enriched my design practice by deepening my understanding of narrative, emotion, and human behavior, skills that translate directly into creating more compelling user experiences. I've completed a few documentary projects (happy to share!) while also taking on select design consulting work.

Outside work, you'll find me on the tennis court, diving into newsletters and blogs, or spending time with family and friends.
